Kozic, Zilic and Romein lead the Knights in 2012

The Melbourne Knights are pleased to confirm the leadership group for the 2012 season.

Last year’s Vice Captain Josip Kozi?, who wore the captain’s armband for much of the 2011 season, will represent the 2012 playing group as Captain of the Melbourne Knights. The weight of the responsibility is not lost on Kozi?, who prepares to represent the club with pride. “It’s truly an honour,” says Kozi?. “There really is nothing bigger than being the Captain of this club.”

Another loyal club man Adam Žili? will take on the Vice Captain responsibilities for the 2012 season. Žili?, who returned to the Knights last year after spells at Fawkner and sister club North Geelong, is especially proud to be taking on this role for a club that he also represented as a Junior. “Obviously I’m very honoured to have been chosen to be a part of the leadership group of a club I played for as a boy,” says Žili?. “Clearly this role brings with it the responsibility of leading the squad and representing the club I love, and I’m more than ready to take that on.”

Taking on the Deputy Vice Captain role will be newly appointed No. 1 keeper, Aaron Romein. Romein, who along with his brother Shaun joined the Knights last year, is keen to prove himself this season – both as a first keeper and leader in the team.
