The Knights will look to make it a league double over City in what is their second last home match of the 2023 regular season, having run out 4-1 winners in the reverse fixture thanks to a Gian Albano brace along with goals from Corey Sewell and Felipe Sanchez.
Ben Cahn’s side currently sit fourth on the NPL Victoria ladder with 38 points to their name, seven clear of seventh placed Green Gully as they seek a return to finals action for the first time since 2015.
Meanwhile Moreland, who played out a 1-1 draw with Gully last weekend are thirteenth, one point adrift of safety with just five matches left to play this season.
With just three points separating 11th and 14th on the NPL Victoria league table a massive few weeks lay ahead in the race to avoid relegation.
Knights ran out 3-0 winners in a Croatian derby victory over North Geelong Warriors in their last league outing thanks to goals from Luka Kolic, Anton Kinnander and Ivan Franjic before suffering a 3-1 Dockerty Cup Semi Final defeat at the hands of Oakleigh on Wednesday night.
A stunning Steve Whyte free-kick that resulted in his first goal in Knights colours wasn’t enough with a pair of second half goals sending the Cannons to the final.
The Knights now look to bounce back by continuing their strong record at Somers Street – where they’ve tasted defeat just twice this year in league action, in their penultimate home match of the 2023 regular season.
