UMBRO x MKFC Retro kit
The Melbourne Knights Football Club’s recently released throwback Retro Jersey is inspired by the glory days of the 80s, a time that encompasses a highly successful period in the clubs history, when it was known under the Melbourne Croatia Soccer Club moniker.
Founded in 1953, the Melbourne Croatia Soccer Clubs adopted its new name of Melbourne Knights FC in 1993, when Soccer Australia’s (currently FFA) strict rebranding code was implemented for participation in the national league.
The collaboration marks the 65th anniversary of a club that went on to produce many great sporting talents, who went on to feature for the Socceroos, including Danny Tiatto, Billy Vojtek, Jimmy Mackay and most famously Mark Viduka along with Joe Simunic, who went on to play for Croatia.
With a small drop of 65 jerseys being produced to celebrate 65 years since its inception, it seems fitting that the style is a blend of old and new. After a hugely successful launch at Melbourne restaurant establishment Dalmatino, the remaining jerseys are now available for purchase via the MKFC online store.
It’s now your LAST chance to own your very own piece of the clubs rich history.
