The 2014 NPL Victoria fixture was announced today by Football Federation Victoria, with Knights to host reigning champion Northcote City in the first game of the new season.
Melbourne Knights’ campaign will kick off on a Friday night – March 14th at 8.30PM – however the majority of all other 2014 home fixtures will be played on a Sunday afternoon.
There will also be two mid-week home games on April 16th and July 30th against Hume City and Oakleigh Cannons, respectively.
The Club’s first away trip will be away to Pascoe Vale in the second game of the season.
Andrew Marth’s men will get a chance to avenge their 2013 semi-final loss to South Melbourne when the two clubs meet for the first time on April 27th in the Club’s sixth game of the season.
Five of the first six games of the new competition will be home fixtures – the most congested period of the year for Knights Stadium – and on the flip side, there will be a period where the Knights will play four consecutive away matches in July.
The season will finish with a fixture on Somers Street with Melbourne Knights hosting Bentleigh Greens.
