In the FA Carling Premiership, DANNY TIATTO played a full game and picked up a yellow card in the 14th minute, as Manchester City lost 1-0 at home to Manchester United.

MARK VIDUKA played a full game as Leeds United lost 1-0 at home to West Ham.

VILSON KNEZEVIC (gk) played a full game, as Germinal Beerschot beat FC Antwerpe 2-1 away from home in the Belgian 1st Division.

13 November 2000
MARK VIDUKA was replaced in the 77th minute, but not before scoring the game’s opening goal in the 62nd minute, as Leeds United drew 1-1 away to Chelsea. It was Viduka’s 11th goal of the season and 10th goal in only 9 Premiership appearances making him the League’s top goalscorer with Chelsea’s Hasselbaink. Spanish giant Barcelona has reportedly weighed in with a bid for VIDUKA .. the deal, which also involves Viduka’s Leeds team-mate Paul Robinson, is reputed to be for 17 million pounds.

DANNY TIATTO missed Manchester City’s clash with West Ham over the weekend, due to suspension. However the midfielder, who will be in Glasgow this week as part of Australia’s squad to take on Scotland, will be hoping his absence is a short one, with the derby between City and United set down for next weekend … and his family having flown in from Melbourne to watch it.

VILSON KNEZEVIC (gk) played a full game, as Germinal Beerschot lost 2-0 at home to Charleroi in the Belgian 1st Division.

JOE SPITERI has again succumbed to the ankle injury which has seen him play only sporadically this season, for Belgian club side Lierse.

ACTION IN EUROPE… CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
MARK VIDUKA played a full match as Leeds United drew 1-1 away to AC Milan, to finish Group H in 2nd place, to qualify for the second phase. Leeds has now been placed in another tough group for the second stage of the Champions League, drawn in Group D with Cup holder Real Madrid (Spain), Lazio (Italy) and Anderlecht (Belgium), with the first group match against Real Madrid on November 22.

FRANK JURIC (gk) remained on the bench, as Bayer Leverkusen (Germany) drew 0-0 away to Sporting Clube de Portugal, to finish Group A in third place, the standing eliminating Leverkusen from the Champions League, but placing the Club in the UEFA Cup, to play AEK Athens (Greece) on November 23.

5 November 2000
MARK VIDUKA played a full match, scored his team’s four goals in the 24th, 46th, 73rd and 75th minutes, and was Man of the Match, as Leeds United beat Liverpool 4-3 at home. Earlier in the week, VIDUKA played for Leeds in the third round of the Worthington Cup as Leeds United lost 3-2 away to Tranmere Rovers in extra time.

DANNY TIATTO played a full match, as Manchester City lost 1-0 at home to Leicester. TIATTO also played in the third round of the Worthington Cup and was replaced in the 70th minute, as Manchester City beat Aston Villa 1-0 to advance to the next round, to play Wimbledon. Unfortunately, TIATTO will miss Manchester City’s clash with West Ham due to suspension, after his send-off last weekend.

30 October 2000
MARK VIDUKA played a full game scoring Leed’s equalizer in the 79th minute and picking up a yellow card in the 46th as Leeds United drew 1-1 away to Bradford. Earlier in the week, Mark played a full game in the Champions League as Leeds United (England) drew 1-1 at home with Barcelona (Spain). The draw puts Leeds in second place in Group H, with a draw against Milan in the final group game enough for advancement.

DANNY TIATTO was sent off in the 42nd minute, after his second bookable offence, as Manchester City was thumped 5-0, away to Arsenal. Danny also played a full game, and scored a cracker of a goal in the 90th minute, his first in the Premier League, as Manchester City beat Southampton 2-0 away from home.

In Belgium, JOE SPITERI, coming back from injury, came off the bench in the 46th minute, and picked up a yellow card, as Lierse lost 4-1 at home to Moeskroen.

And in Greece, JOE BACAK, who recently transferred from the Dutch League (Vitesse Arnhem) to Ethinikos Asteras, is currently sidelined through injury, while in Germany, FRANK JURIC is still waiting on the sidelines for his chance to stake a place in the first XI at Bayer Leverkusen.

15 October 2000
In the FA Carling Premiership, MARK VIDUKA scored two goals once again, in the 73rd and 90th minutes, as he played a full game for Leeds United in their 3-1 win at home to Charlton Athletic.

DANNY TIATTO also played a full game as Manchester City won 2-0 at home to Bradford City.

In the Belgian 1st Division, VILSON KNEZEVIC (gk) came on in the 54th minute as Germinal Beerschot Antwerp lost 3-2 away to Sint-Truiden.

Meanwhile, JOE SPITERI missed this weekend’s clash between Lierse and Racing Genk through injury.

1 October 2000
In the FA Carling Premiership, Socceroo and Olympian MARK VIDUKA scored two goals, in the 52nd and 55th minutes and was then substituted in the 81st minute, as Leeds United won 4-3 at home to Tottenham Hotspurs (1/10).

Socceroo DANNY TIATTO played a full game (1/10) as Manchester City lost 1-0 at home to Newcastle United and in the 2nd Round of the League Cup (27/9) Tiatto played a full game as Manchester City won 4-2 away to Gillingham. Manchester City won 5-3 on aggregate.

In the UEFA Champions League (26/9), MARK VIDUKA played a full game and scored in the 12th minute as Leeds United (England) won 6-0 at home to Besiktas (Turkey).

In the UEFA CUP, 1st Round – 2nd (26/9), JOE SPITERI came on in the 55th minute as Lierse (Belgium) lost 5-1 away to Bordeaux (France). Lierse lost 5-1 on aggregate.

23 September 2000
DANNY TIATTO was replaced in the 49th minute as Manchester City drew 0-0 away to Tottenham Hotspurs.

9 September 2000
Friends off and on the park for so many years, Socceroos DANNY TIATTO and MARK VIDUKA squared off against each for the first time (5/9/00) with Tiatto getting one up on Viduka as Manchester City won 2-1 away to Leeds United. Unfortunately, Tiatto suffered a groin strain in the match against Leeds and failed a late fitness test for Manchester City’s trip to Anfield (Liverpoool FC) last weekend.

In Belgium (9/9/00), JOE SPITERI came on in the 71st minute, as Lierse lost 2-0 away to Charleroi and VILSON KNEZEVIC (gk) was substituted in the 46th minute, as Germinal Beerschot Antwerp lost 3-0 away to Harelbeke. Earlier in the week (6/9/00), Vilson Knezevic (gk) played a full game as Germinal Beerschot Antwerp won 5-0 away to La Louviere and Joe Spiteri came on in the 46th minute as Lierse won 3-0 at home to Beveren.

28 August 2000
Socceroo DANNY TIATTO played a full game, as Manchester City lost 2-1 at home to Coventry City while earlier in the week, DANNY TIATTO played a full game when Manchester City beat Sunderland 4-2 at home.

For Leeds, Socceroo MARK VIDUKA played a full game in a 2-1 win against fellow Aussies Mark Schwarzer and Paul Okon from Middlesborough.

Earlier in the week in the Champions League Qualifying Rounds, MARK VIDUKA played a full game, as Leeds United beat Paul Agostino’s 1860 Munich 1-0 away in the second leg tie, and 3-1 on aggregate, to advance into the group stage of the Champions League.

In the Belgian 1st Division, JOE SPITERI came off the bench in the 69th minute, as Lierse lost to 1-0 away to Westerloand VILSON KNEZEVIC (gk) played a full game as Germinal Beerschot beat Standard Liege 1-0 at home.

In the UEFA Cup Qualifying Round, JOE SPITERI came off the bench and had immediate impact with a goal in the 58th minute, as Lierse beat Ekranas (Lithuania) 4-0 at home in the second leg, to win 7-0 on aggregate and proceed through to the first round of the UEFA Cup.

In the German Bundesliga (1st Division), JOE SIMUNIC came off the bench in the 49th minute, and picked up a yellow card as Hertha Berlin beat SSV Reutlingen 3-2 away.

19 August 2000
Playing in the FA Carling Premiership in the UK, DANNY TIATTO played a full game as Manchester City made an inauspicious return to the Premier League, losing 4-0 to Charlton Athletic.

MARK VIDUKA played a full game, as Leeds United beat Everton 2-0 at home.

In the Belgium 1st Division, for Lierse, JOE SPITERI came off the bench in the 56th minute and VILSON KNEZEVIC (gk) played a full game, as Germinal Beerschot lost 2-0 away to Lokeren.

In the German Bundesliga (1st Division), JOE SIMUNIC came off the bench in the 72nd minute, as Hertha Berlin thumped his former side Hamburg 4-0 at home.
