Melbourne Knights are excited to announce the signing of defender, Tom Woerndl ahead of the 2024 NPL Victoria season.
The 24-year-old left winger and Aussie and British dual national is set to bolster Knights’ defence this season.
Even at a young age, his experience is vast, after completing stints at clubs both here in Australia and in England.
After graduating from the Western Sydney Wanders Academy, Woerndl found himself in England, where he went on to further developed his skills with Needham Market and Ipswich Town football clubs.
He then found a spot playing for Leiston Football Club before making the move back to Australia, joining fellow NPL Victoria outfit Altona Magic in 2021, where he’s spent the last three seasons and played more than 50 games.
The left footer will don the number 23 and is excited to get underway here at the Knights.
‘Melbourne Knights is a massive club with a lot of history and big ambitions, I’m really looking forward to the new challenge ahead’.
Woerndl is our first confirmed signing of the upcoming 2024 season, and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the club.
Catch Tom in action this Saturday at Knights Stadium when the Club faces off against O’Connor Knights in a pre-season friendly. The Clubrooms will be open for lunch from 12pm onward, and 2024 MKFC Memberships will be on sale in the merchandise kiosk.
Stay tuned for more announcements from the Club as we inch closer and closer to our 2024 NPL opening round fixture against South Melbourne FC in two weeks!
