Melbourne Knights FC Juniors have begun an exciting and exclusive new training initiative lead by Senior Men’s Assistant Coach, Dean Racunica.
With participants handpicked by Racunica himself from our talented crop of NPL Juniors U14 to U16 teams, the program has been built from the ground up to provide the youngsters with new challenges in a positive footballing environment where the focus will be on improving their technical skills while reinforcing the fundamentals of the game to gear them into becoming more dynamic individual and team players.
Racunica, accredited with a UEFA Pro licence coaching qualification, was a top flight player for Hajduk Split in the Croatian First Football League, who also represented his country in the Croatian National Team. Since retiring from professional football, Racunica has held full time coaching positions across Europe, with his most notable appointment being with FC DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda in the Slovak Super Liga. Understanding the importance of investing in the next generation of footballers, Racunica is keen to impart his wealth of experience and expertise on the youngsters, who are in turn equally as keen to learn from a seasoned professional.
The program marks another positive step for the club in its endeavours to create new initiatives for its juniors. This is a wonderful opportunity for all our MKFC Juniors and we hope to expand this program going forward.
For those looking to participate in other junior events lead by the club, our July School Holiday Clinics are still open for registration. Built on top of the previously run clinics in January, our July clinics, led by Senior men’s coach Aljosa Asanovic and assistant coach Dean Racunica, offer a concise three day program designed to build friendships, reinforce footballing skills and importantly get the kids enjoying their football.
