Melbourne Knights would like to announce Eric Vassiliadis as the club’s new head coach.
Most recently, Vassiliadis spent 7 season’s with Port Melbourne after taking the reigns as player-coach in 2010 with the club in then State League 2. Winning the title in his first season, Vassiliadis guided Port Melbourne to 3rd position in State League 1 before earning another promotion the following season to bring the Sharks into the top division.
His tenure at Port Melbourne has seen the club consolidate its position and status as a top flight club in the National Premier League.
Prior to coaching, Vassiliadis was also prominent as a player in the Victorian Premier League featuring for the likes of Northcote City, Fawkner Blues, Whittlesea Zebra’s and winning a title with Heidelberg United.
With the season hitting the half way point and the transfer window opening on Monday, the new head coach will hit the ground running ahead of next Friday’s away fixture to Pascoe Vale.
