As the conclusion to the 2022 season draws near, the Knights hosted Altona Magic in the final home game of the season. With the whistle, a back-and-forth first half resulted in a stalemate. with both sides walking into the change rooms empty handed. The Knights and Magic both came close at times but the scoreline remained untouched.
It didn’t take long for the Knights to strike when the second half started. Just seven minutes into the half, Mohammas Sumaoro’s curling effort had the Knights in front. Albano produced a beautiful pass cutting through the Magic’s last line. Sumaoro fired, past the goalkeepers and into the top left corner.
Their lead was short lived, when just 10 minutes later, the Magic had pulled one back. Unluckily, the Knights were made to fight once again for a chance at three points.
Anthony Duzel almost had the Knights back in front, when his shot on goal looked destined for the bottom corner. The shot continued to curl away from goal, past Akim Abdul and to the outside of the post.
After the 90 minutes was spent, both sides had only one goal to their names. With both sides sharing the points, the Knights manage to stay three points ahead of the Magic in 10th position – on thirty points, ten points clear of the relegation zone.
