McGarry returns to Somers Street

The Melbourne Knights Football Club is delighted to announce James McGarry as its latest addition for the 2020 NPL Season.

McGarry, 31 returns to the Knights after spending the last two seasons at Altona Magic.

The deep lying midfielder brings a wealth experience to the playing group and is a welcome addition to the squad.

“I always cherished my time at the Knights and was excited by the prospect of returning to the club when they made contact with me. It’s by far the biggest club in the country and I can’t wait to get going.”

McGarry is recovering from minor hip surgery had in the off season.

“I had a few niggles with it last season and thought it would be best to get a clean-up so I can play injury free this season. The rehab is going well and I’m aiming to be match fit and ready for selection from Round 3.”

The Knights kick start their 2020 campaign at home to Sydney United this weekend in the annual Friendship Cup at Knights Stadium with kick off scheduled for 4:30pm.
