Ferreira makes coaching debut with the Knights

The Melbourne Knights Football Club is pleased to announce Diogo Ferreira as the club’s Senior Assistant Coach for the 2021 NPL Victoria Season.

Ferreira, 31, learnt his trade in one of Europe’s most famed academies at FC Porto in Portugal before embarking on a professional career that saw him play for Melbourne Victory, a premiership winning Brisbane Roar and Perth Glory in the A-League, before an overseas career in Japan, Malaysia, India and Indonesia. He also made 17 caps for the Olyroos.

After linking up with the Senior squad last week, Ferreira had this to say;

“I’m very excited to be able to take the next step in my coaching career at a club with such a big history.”

“I’m looking to come in and add something different to the team and hopefully be able to pass on all my knowledge and experience to all the players. I can’t wait to get started and put Melbourne Knights back where they belong.”

We wish Diogo all the best and welcome him to the club.
