The Melbourne Knights have welcomed yet another addition to their 2022 squad, Jack Morton.
The 20-year-old midfielder arrives from the fellow Melbourne side – Melbourne Victory under-23’s. On the next step in his career, Morton mentioned his excitement by stating, “it’s a very competitive league, in which there will never be an easy game. The tempo and standard is the closest you can get to the A-League which is a big positive”.
Still in the early days of his footballing career, Morton played frequently in the Melbourne Victory under-20’s system in 2018. Showing no fear from the centre of the park, Morton found himself scoring six goals from the midfield, a feat most professional A-League footballers struggle with. On top of this, and directly linked to his performance, Morton received call ups to nine matches for the Melbourne Victory reserves – starting in six of them, and remained on the MVFC senior team roster for two years.
A technically gifted youngster, Morton described the Knights as, “a massive club within Australian football with a successful history and a very bright future”.
The youngster hopes to achieve plenty in his maiden season with the Knights, claiming he wants to put his name forward to be playing each week. Further stating, “the main goal is to win the league with the Knights, and to be a part of a team that the fans enjoy to come and watch”.
Everyone at the Melbourne Knights welcomes Jack to the club and is very excited to see him on the pitch in 2022!
