Over the coming school holiday period we will be holding the first football clinics under the auspices of the Melbourne Croatia Academy. This initiative was spawned by our head coach and Croatian footballing legend, Aljoša Asanovic.
The first set of clinics in the January school holidays will run for three days per age group whilst the Term 1 and Term 2 school holiday program (in April and June respectively) will be structured as a full 5 day program that gains intensity as the year progresses. These longer duration clinics will be offered at the same price point as the introductory clinic.
Alongside Asanovic, there will also be sessions held by:
• Dean Racunica, Senior Assistant Coach and Hajduk Split icon.
• Drago Horvat, Senior Strength and Conditioning Coach, who has worked with Rafael Nadal and Luka Modric
• Mitch Faquar, Senior Head Physio and Sports Scientist.
• Special Guest Coaches (former and current Knights NSL players etc.)
The pricing for the clinics will be $400 per child (plus an additional once off $50 for uniform). There will be two age groups which will be spaced out over 2 weeks. At this stage the Academy is only taking bookings for the January school holidays. The program will be capped at 60 registrations per age group which will enable each individual to spend intimate time with the coaching staff. The first age group will be from ages 9-12. The clinics for this age group will occur on the 17th – 19th January. The second age group will be from ages 13-17. The clinics for this age group will occur on the 22nd – 24th January.
The club, in conjunction with Asanovic, intend on giving each child a once in a lifetime experience, being able to work under the tutelage of highly experienced individuals. The clinics will not solely be about training drills and the like that you would normally experience. There will be nutritional seminars where players will be educated on what they should eat to achieve optimum performance as well as video analysis seminars held by Asanovic and Racunica where they will educate players on the tactical side of the game. This is an incredible opportunity for you to learn from the absolute world’s best.
Due to high interest, current Melbourne Knights FC junior players will be given first preference in securing their spot on a first come first served basis.
