Melbourne Croatia Clubrooms

The Melbourne Croatia Soccer Club has and continues to play an important social role for the Croatian community. Post World War II migration to Australia changed the demographic make up of the country. Croatians along with other continental European migrants entered a society that was at the time quite hostile to these new arrivals. Soccer clubs were formed based around ethnic communities.

The Melbourne Knights became a focal point for the community, as it was just as much a social club as a football club. It provided Croatians with a place to gather where they could feel comfortable and safe in their new home. A place where they could mingle with their own and speak their mother tongue. The club allowed for the preservation and celebration of Croatian identity, tradition, culture and language, as well as promoting it to the wider Australian community.

The club continues to be an important institution for the Croatian community, helping keep it alive, as Croatian culture and tradition is passed onto the next generation.

The Melbourne Knights still remains the largest meeting place for Victoria’s Croatian community.

The Melbourne Croatia Soccer Club is proud to provide facilities to the local community. The Club is strongly family oriented, table tennis, three Bocce Grounds, table soccer and Wii Games with a giant projector screen are available for everyone to enjoy.

The club’s main entertainment centers around the following:

Melbourne Knights Match Days
Authentic Croatian Cuisine

Friday Night Dinner with live music, dancing, raffles…
Annual Croktoberfest
Three Bocce Grounds
Enjoy the Beer Garden on a balmy night
Sunday Lunch
Disco Nights in a Club atmosphere

Melbourne Croatia Soccer Club is all about getting together, having a great time shared with friends and family. The atmosphere in the club is welcoming and relaxed. We are looking forward to seeing you soon at one of our events or perhaps to enjoy a fabulous dinner on a Friday night.
