Technical Director announced for 2014 season

Melbourne Knights FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Krajacic as the club’s Technical Director for the 2014 National Premier League Victoria season.

Krajacic comes into the role with a wealth of experience, having overseen Victorian Champions League outfit Western Wolves as Technical Director and head coach in 2011 when it was named the “Zone of the Year.”

The appointment also acts as a promotion for Krajacic after serving the same role with the junior side to the club in 2013.

He is a well-known name for many in the Victorian football community after his playing days with Green Gully and Heidelberg in the ‘80s, as well as helping Bulleen to is first Victorian title in 1993.

The new Technical Director said he was honoured to receive the appointment and that he is looking forward to the new relationship with the club.

“I’m extremely proud and honored to have been appointed as the Technical Director for the Melbourne Knights Football Club,” Krajacic said.

“NPL Victoria is steering football into a new direction and I’m excited to be on that journey with the club. The Knights have a rich history, culture and tradition in Australian football and we will work hard to ensure we carry this into the future.

Krajacic also indicated he will look to implement an attacking and possession-based style of football which will help the transition of youth players into the senior team.

“The clubs mission is to create a development pathway program in order to produce technically, tactically, creatively and mentally superior football players,” Krajacic said.

“We aim to play a pro-active brand of football based on effective possession that is attractive and attack minded.

“Our vision is to develop and establish a recognised premier football training program and a centre of excellence for players by creating an environment for growth and excellence which will provide players a beginning pathway towards eventual senior team selection.

“In order to facilitate this, my primary focus will be to work closely with all coaches within the club in order to develop them to be able to provide better coaching, which underpins how well our players will develop and progress.”

Junior trials for the Knights’ various NPL Victoria sides have now commenced. For more information about junior training information, please contact [email protected].au.
