Melbourne Knights will host their first NPLV game of the season, when they welcome Pascoe Vale to Knights stadium on Friday night.
Both sides come into the contest level on one point, after losing leads in their respective round one fixture.
Andrew Marth’s men threw away a two-goal lead away to Hume City, after controlling much of the match. Impressing on his debut for the club, Elvis Kamsoba excited the fans with his pace and flair down the flanks while also opening his account for the Knights. Danny Dixon, Tom Cahill and Jake Barker-Daish also had solid debuts for the club, while Captain Ben Surey was a sight for sore eyes after returning from a lengthy injury spell. Goalkeeper Fraser Chalmers will miss this match, as he serves a suspension for his red card last week.
Pascoe Vale will be disappointed to have only earned a point at home to newly promoted North Geelong last week, however Vitale Ferrante’s side have also been difficult to beat regardless of venue and form. The sides faced off in a pre-season friendly last month which finished 1-1.
Leading the attack for the visitors will be the always formidable Davey Van’t Schip, and is supported by former Knight Jacob Colosimo who made the switch in the offseason. Colosimo isn’t the only former Knight, with Tomislav Milardovic and Anthony Duzel also at Pascoe Vale.
The last league encounter saw Pascoe Vale run out 2-1 winners at Knights Stadium, although the Knights have enjoyed a more favourable head to head record winning 4 from the past 5 encounters.
