Tomislav Fadljevic is the latest of a long list of prodigal sons to return to Somers Street, having re-signed with the Club ahead of the 2017 PS4 NPL season last week.
The former Knights junior links up with Andrew Marth’s squad from Melbourne City’s NYL/NPL side, which will be his second time in the senior set-up, having been a youth player that featured in 2014.
The 19-year-old, described as a ball-playing central defender with good vision, said that the move back to Knights Stadium was an easy sell.
“Stabba [Andrew Marth] gave me a call at the end of my NPL season with Melbourne City and we met up to discuss the year ahead.
“I had to decide whether it would be good for my career as I had a other options that were available to me. Once our conversation was over, I realised that Melbourne Knights was the way to go.”
“I’ve been at City for the past 4 seasons and I definitely learnt a lot in the time that I was there. I was lucky enough to train with the A-League team on different occasions which was a very good experience for me.
“I got a good taste as to what it would be like to live as a professional footballer, and that definitely makes me hungry to succeed in the game.
“I’m excited for a new start with Melbourne Knights as I’ve been in the same environment for a while now and it’s for something new.”
Fadljevic joins Jake Barker-Daish, Kym Harris, Elvis Kamsoba and Danny Dixon as new signings for the 2017 PS4 NPL season.
