Diaz joins to lead Knights Women’s

The Melbourne Knights Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of new Women’s senior coach John Diaz.

Making the move from fellow NPL side South Melbourne FC, Diaz joins the Knights looking to build and expand the Knights Senior Women’s football program.

After spending three years at Point Cook Soccer Club as Senior Women’s coach, Diaz was able to guide the side to a promotion into State 2 competition.

Looking for his next challenge, Diaz made the short move to Hoppers Crossing Soccer club in 2018, guiding the side to a promotion to State 1 after only a single season with the club.

Following this, Diaz made the switch South Melbourne FC where he has spent the last three years as the goal keeping coach for the Senior Women’s team as well as all NPL girls teams, as well as the Assistant coach for their U17 NPL side.

On appointment to his new posting at the Knights, Diaz is “excited for the challenge that lies ahead” and is confident that the Women’s side can build on their 2021 Cup success, while also improving on their league competitions.

The club welcomes John Diaz and wishes him all the success for the 2022 season.
