Melbourne Knights FC is happy to confirm that the majority of the 2014 Dockerty Cup winning squad have re-committed to the Club for the upcoming NPL Victoria season, with over 16 players agreeing to terms.
As is usual at this level of the game, players have individually agreed to terms with the Club, with the official signing of contracts done in bulk nearer to the start of the season.
The news is a move that the Club believes highlights the stability at Somers Street, and accompanies the announcement of head coach Andrew Marth’s decision to start his third consecutive season in 2015.
With all the “re-signings”, Marth will have a host of players returning from long-term injuries, which plagued the Club during the 2014 edition of Victoria’s premier football league, who he says will be fit for the new year.
“The majority have agreed terms, even the injured boys,” Marth said.
“But the injured boys – I’ve given them an ultimatum: I need them fit and ready to go before I give the club the go ahead to re-sign them.
Melbourne Knights FC return to pre-season on December 16th. The official club website will be interviewing the players that have re-signed with the Club over the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned to see who will be wearing red, white & blue in 2015!
