The Melbourne Knights Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of new senior coach Steve Bebic.
Having begun his coaching career leading the club’s Under 18s to a championship in 2012 Bebic soon moved into senior coaching. He served as Zeljko Kuzman’s assistant coach at St. Albans Saints, Northcote City, Dandenong City while most recently taking up a position as assistant coach at Caroline Springs George Cross. Bebic was an integral part of the championship winning seasons at both Northcote City and Dandenong City.
The club’s board felt that Bebic was the ideal candidate to take the club forward with a focus on home grown player development balanced with building a successful team in the coming years.
Bebic’s meticulous approach, motivation and knowledge displayed throughout the interview process were key to the trust placed in him to lead the club in 2021 and beyond.
The new head coach understands the club’s culture and hopes to capitalise on the many aspects of the club that set us apart from many others –
“It’s a great privilege to be appointed to lead this iconic football club. Leading a club with such a prestigious heritage and fans that are so passionate is an honour that excites me.”
With the club having one eye on the mooted National Second Division as well as the hopes of bringing sustained success to Somers St. Bebic had the following to say;
“As a supporter of the club growing up I understand what this club means to the community and I am confident that together we will create a squad and a legacy that everyone associated with the club will be proud of.”
