Last Sunday, the entire Melbourne Knights squad made a hugely successful scheduled appearance at the 3rd annual Croatian Cultural Festival. Hosted by AHD Melbourne at the Croatian House in Footscray, the event featured a variety of foods from a number of Croatian regions, Croatian folkloric musical ensembles and displays and an Australian-Croatian Arts Exhibit.
Highlight of the day for the Knights fans in the crowd was the appearance of their favourite players and coaching staff, who challenged the eager youngsters to an impromptu soccer match where the youthful faithful were keen to demonstrate their skills. Players were also called upon to sign player cards, posters and have their photo taken with the supporters in attendance.
With the season kicking off at Knights Stadium against Hume City on Sunday, the day was a perfect opportunity for fans to meet the Melbourne Knights before the boys take the park in their opening game on home turf.
The Melbourne Knights would like to thank the staff and organisers of the annual Croatian Cultural Festival. May the event continue to showcase the best that the Croatian community has to offer.
