Japanese forward Yutaro Shin joins the Knights for 2019

Melbourne Knights FC is proud to announce our latest signing for the 2019 season with forward Yutaro Shin joining the club.

Shin arrives at the club via Savan United who currently compete in the Laos Premier League. The 28 year old creative winger may be a familiar name to some, having made 45 appearances for sister club Sydney United throughout the 2016/17 seasons.

Prior to his time in Australia, Shin was also a professional player in the J3 in his native country, Japan.

Retuning to Australia for his second stint in the National Premiere Leagues, Shin is thrilled to be joining the club;

“The club got in touch with me in early 2018 and we have been discussing this move for a while now. After experiencing the Croatian Australian culture once before, it was a fairly easy decision for me to come back to Australia and join one of the biggest clubs in the country.”

Shin added that he still has a desire to play professional football;

“I still think that I have plenty to offer at the professional level of the game and I believe I have joined the right club in order for that to happen whether it be here in Australia or back in my home country of Japan.”

We welcome Yutaro Shin to the club and wish him well for the 2019 season.

The club’s next practice game will be this Sunday 20th January against fellow NPL side, Pascoe Vale kicking off at 4pm at Hosken Reserve in Coburg North.
