Knights announce Frangie for 2022

The Melbourne Knights are excited to unveil their maiden signing ahead of the 2022 season, Anthony Frangie.

The 24-year-old forward completes the move from NPL New South Wales side, the Marconi Stallions. On the change, he said; “I was after a change. I looked into the club and saw that it has a rich history and I wanted to be apart of building their future success. I also really like Bebics’ playing style and believe it will suit me well moving forward.”

Frangie began his senior career in 2017 at the age of 19, at NPL NSW side, Hakoah Sydney City East FC. During his two seasons at Hakoah, Frangie notched up 16 goals – 11 of them coming in the second season. In the 2018 season, he achieved a top 5 finish in the NPL NSW goalscoring and simultaneously topped Hakoah’s goalscoring.

Before the beginning of the 2019 season, Frangie made the move from Hakoah to the Marconi Stallions. During his debut season at Marconi, he managed two goals from 13 matches.

He progressed in his second season at Marconi which was unfortunately interrupted due to COVID-19. Frangie scored five times from 11 matches – the joint top scorer at the club that season.

After playing an interrupted season in 2021, on his goal for 2022, Frangie said; ‘I want to be a team player. I want to score as well as assist with as many goals as I can. I want to bring home all and any trophies there are. I want to bring success to the club and myself.’

Everyone at the Melbourne Knights welcomes Anthony to the club and is excited to see him in action in 2022!
