The Knights put on a dominating display, but a five-minute DCSC purple patch led to both sides sharing the points.
It was a scorcher of a day, and even with the new fixture of 7:00pm, the heat was unrelenting, but that didn’t stop the Knights from coming out hot.
The side was on the attack, peppering the net from the outset.
In the 13th minute, veteran Knight, Gian Albano, hit the back of the net, and from there the Knights continued to hunt for their second, producing 12 shots on goal for the half. Dandy City had their chances as well, with six shots on goal, however neither side could covert before half time.
The second half went much the same way as the first, with Albano scoring his second goal in the 64th minute to give the Knights a 2-0 lead.
But Dandy City’s Kenny Athiu scored two minutes later, in the 66th, to bring Knights back down to Earth.
And not even two minutes later, Dandy City equalised off the boot of Tim Atherinos.
While both sides went into attack mode to try and get the win, neither were able to capitalise on their chances and walked away sharing the points.
Melbourne Knights are back at it this Saturday, away from home for the first time in a month, as they take on Moreland City FC at 3:00pm.
