Melbourne Knights Football Club is thrilled to announce its first mid-season signing of 2018, with 23 year old play maker Andelo Svalina joining from Croatian second division club NK Solin.
Svalina who has been at NK Solin since he was 8 years old and captained the team this past season is excited by the opportunity that has presented itself.
“The club approached me a week or so ago and after meeting with Dean Racunica in Split last week, they made it very difficult for me to say no. Being able to work together with two legends of Croatian football is just something that I couldn’t pass up.”
Svalina is a quick thinking, attacking minded play maker who has also built a reputation as a set-piece specialist.
Senior Assistant Coach Dean Racunica had this to say about our latest signing
“Andelo is good with both feet and a very intelligent and technical footballer. I think he will be one of the best signings to ever play in the NPL here in Victoria and be vital for us to make the final series this season.”
Svalina will replace Louis Fenton on the playing roster as Fenton returns to the Wellington Phoneix and will be available for selection for our Round 14 clash with the Oakleigh Cannons on June 1st.
