The Melbourne Knights Football Club are excited to announce the signing of international attacking midfielder, Saïf Eddine Sakhi ahead of the 2024 NPL Victoria Season.
The 26-year-old joins the Knights in 2024 from Belgian side UR La Louvière Centre, where he made 15 appearances. Spending most of his professional career split between the French and Belgian leagues, the Moroccan and French dual national made the move to Melbourne, following in his brother Hamza Sakhi (formerly Melbourne City FC) footsteps.
Clocking in at 1.83m and donning the number 29 jersey this season, Sakhi described his switch to the Knights as an “opportunity he couldn’t pass up”, stating that his brother had a lot of good things to say about the football leagues and clubs in Melbourne.
Sakhi being with him has a wealth of international experience and fans in attendance at the friendly against O’Connor would have seen Sakhi in action, scoring two early goals in the match, giving the Knights a 2-0 lead at half time, before he was subbed off.
Sakhi is our third confirmed new signing of the upcoming 2024 season, and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the club.
The NPL season is upon us. Join us this week for the NPL season opener, as we take on South Melbourne FC in the OG Melbourne Derby, this Thursday night at Lakeside Stadium, kick-off 8:15pm.
