Melbourne Knights FC is proud to announce the first signing of the new year with forward Gian Albano joining the side for the 2019 NPL Victoria season.
Albano arrives at the club via Bayswater City SC who finished fourth in the National Premier Leagues Western Australia division in 2018 where Albano played a total of 27 games as an explosive forward out wide or in the traditional number nine role and returning a total of 12 goals for his side.
Prior to his time with Bayswater, Albano was on the books for Perth Glory in their Youth Team and also competed in the NPLWA.
Completing the cross-country move, Gian is conscious of the fact that the 2019 NPL Victoria season is going to be a challenge;
“It’s a big move to go across the country but turning 23 in this coming year I felt that it was time to challenge myself in Victoria.”
Albano added that he thought the Knights were the best fit for him;
“I think that the Knights have the right culture for me to excel in and help the team, similar to Bayswater where I came from and I hope I can do the club proud in 2019.”
We welcome Gian Albano to the club and wish him well for the upcoming season.
The club’s first practice game of 2019 is scheduled for this Saturday 12th January against the Fausto De Amicis coached Moreland Zebras kicking off at 10am at Clifton Park in Brunswick.
