Petrov completes move to the Knights

The Melbourne Knights Football Club are excited to announce Daniel Petrov as their latest signing ahead of the 2021 season.

Petrov, 25, arrives to the Knights from Werribee City FC, for the 2021 season.

The central defender has gathered experience from a young age, spending time in the Melbourne Victory youth system as a youngster.

On top of that, Petrov has also played among other NPL Victoria setups – with Werribee City on two separate occasions and the Moreland Zebras.

Petrov, who comes from a Croatian background, explained that is what drew him to a club like the Knights. “Before I even started playing football, I said I wanted to play for Melbourne Croatia.”

When he received the call, he simply stated it as, “an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.”

Since arriving at the Knights, he has felt in place. “The boys are great and make me feel really welcomed.”

Petrov states, “I want to personally have a good season.” In doing so, he also looks to achieve the club’s targets. “As a team we have set some pretty high standard goals that we want to achieve.”

Petrov prides himself on his teamwork, quoting his personal belief of playing for the club and not himself.

Everyone at the Melbourne Knights welcomes Daniel to the club and is excited to see him on the pitch in 2021.
