The Melbourne Knights Football Club are excited to announce Welsh forward, Alun Webb as the newest addition to their 2021 squad.
Webb, 27, joins the Knights for the 2021 season from Adelaide Raiders SC in the NPL South Australia.
Webb will be accompanied by former teammate Nikola Jurkovic, who confirmed his return to the Knights for the 2021 season, from the Adelaide Raiders late in 2020.
The Welshman has endured a career that has taken him around the globe, playing in Wales, Sweden, USA and more recently Australia.
While playing in the USA with Chattanooga FC, his season was highlighted with a goal against La Liga side Real Betis, in a pre-season friendly. The majority of the 2019/20 season was interrupted due to COVID-19, bringing his stint in the USA to an early end.
Webb’s first season in Australia with the Adelaide Raiders was also quite the success, notching up 11 goals in 19 matches, and the Raiders subsequently finishing the 2020 season in fifth.
On his arrival at the Knights, Webb stated;
“I’m delighted to sign for the club. I knew a bit about the club before I even thought about coming to play in Australia. When the opportunity to come and play here came up, it was a no brainer.”
“Having had such fantastic experience at the Raiders, the chance to play for another Croatian community club is brilliant.”
“I can’t wait to get started and show what I’m about.”
Everyone at the Melbourne Knights welcomes Alun to the club and are ready to see him on the pitch in 2021.
