2024 NPL Round 21 – Knights v United

The Knights’ undefeated streak has continued into its fifth week and the Club looks to take it to six as they face off against Manningham United at home this Friday.

The Knights are four points behind sixth placed Port Melbourne (currently sitting in eighth), and the side is keenly looking to add another three this week to close the gap and battle it out for sixth place and a finals spot. With only six games left in the regular season, every point counts, the Knights have bolstered their squad with the addition of three new players in the run to finals football. Coming into the squad and available for selection this week are Hatim Far, Geoffry Lino and Anton Primorac.

Hatim Far

Far, the sides second frenchman, comes into the squad from La Roche VF as attacking midfielder/striker and will wear number 33. Lino, a winger, will wear number 32 and comes to the Club from Bentleigh Greens FC. The youngest of the trio is former Melbourne Victory youth player and midfielder Anton Primorac, who will wear the number 12 jersey. To make room for the new signings, the Knights parted ways with Tommy Semmy and Felipe Sanchez who have moved to Werribee City FC and Brunswick Juventus FC respectively.

Geoffry Lino

Looking toward their opponents, it’s a different story for Manningham, who sit on just four wins and are currently placed 12th on the ladder. For United, they’ll undoubtedly be looking to take away points to cement their position outside the relegation zone and a secured spot in NPL Victoria for season 2025.

Anton Primorac

And while ladder position may be deceiving, Manningham is coming off a 4-0 triumph over the St Albans Saints, so confidence will be riding high this week as they take on the Knights. The Knights will have to bring their pressure and attacking style of football right from kickoff to hold back Manningham and add another three points to their tally.

It’s set to be a cracker of a game, so get down to Knights Stadium this Friday at 7:30pm and support the side as they look to add to their undefeated streak.
